TRUST IN THE LORD

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not to thine own under standing. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”  Proverbs 3:5-6

We are Robert "Danny" and Nancye Ricketts of Danville, Virginia. We attended RHEMA Bible Training Center in Broken Arrow (Tulsa), Oklahoma and graduated in 1998. We sent out a newsletter to our friends and family while we were in school. You can read the newsletters online.

The February 1998 Newsletter was the most viewed for several years.  Due to unrest in Asia among religious and ethnic groups, we decided to take down that section.  We are redoing it now with many pictures that have not been on the internet.  Watch for its encore.

Of special interest is the March-April 1998 article by Cantiese Burrell "Satisfaction in the Savior." Cantiese graduated from RHEMA in 1998 also.

Robert "Danny" & Nancye Ricketts in Nagpur, India in 2000

We wrote the following within days after the September 11, 2001 tragedies in the United States, but these words as still true today:

The Lord is good and His mercy endures forever.

Watch for new resources here as we are "on the move" now restructuring Trust in the Lord and the entire website.

Note:  If our grandchildren are reading this, please have patience with Grandma. I will have your new pictures up soon.

We have an ebay store called Southside Books that we started about a year ago to raise money for our mission trips. We sell old and used books and other interesting things on the subjects of History, Christianity, and a host of other topics.

Featured Item

The biggest part is the Christian section where we have brand new books, tapes, videos, CD's by Rev. Kenneth E. Hagin (and others) on the subjects of salvation, faith, healing, giving and receiving, who you are in Christ, etc.  Rev. Hagin started RHEMA Bible Training Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma in the mid-1970's.  Nancye always says, "When I went to RHEMA, that was the best two years of my life!"

We are truly saddened about the attacks on our nation. Please join us in praying for the wounded and their families, and for the families of those whose very lives have been stolen from them in this terrible act of cruelty and hatred against our country and our people.  Also - let us remember to pray for President Bush that he will have the wisdom of Solomon, the fearlessness of Daniel, the clear thinking and total  commitment of Paul - and, as King David, that President Bush will have a heart closely attuned to the Heart of God - that he will be "a man after God's own heart."

There is HOPE in Jesus Christ.  It doesn't matter the circumstance.  There is PEACE in the middle of great turmoil.  When everyone around you is distraught and fearful, you can have PEACE and even JOY.  We know our God is greater than any enemy.  We are not moved by circumstances.  We had FAITH in God before this war was waged on us, and that FAITH becomes stronger when the forces of evil come against us.  There is a saying that is especially appropriate at this time:

I cannot be defeated and I will not quit!!

Don't quit believing God.  He is as good as His Word.  And His Word is Life itself.  The Words of the Bible are Living, God-breathed Words.  He has promised to take care of His children.  He has not changed His mind.

AMEN!!

In his book Mere Christianity, C. S. Lewis makes this statement, "A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic-on the level with a man who says he is a poached egg-or he would be the devil of hell. You must take your choice. Either this was, and is, the Son of God, or else a madman or something worse. You can shut him up for a fool or you can fall at his feet and call him Lord and God.But let us not come with any patronizing nonsense about his being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us."

"God has a lot to say about 'things.' Does avoiding worldliness mean we can never have or enjoy things? That may depend on where 'things' fit in with our priorities," Rev. Cooper Beaty, instructor at RBTC, states about his book What Is Worldliness?

If you have never asked Jesus Christ to be the SAVIOR AND LORD of your life, do it today - it will be the best decision you ever make. The Bible says that if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is your Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, then you will be saved. It also tells us that anyone who calls on the Name of the Lord Jesus shall be saved.

(Romans 10:9, 13)
