It’s time to look ahead and make plans for the coming year. We are all standing at a crossroads
looking at the unknown, asking the question, “What should we be doing?”

God’s Word tells us:

“Those who are planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God. They
shall still bear fruit in old age; they shall be fresh and flourishing. To declare that the LORD is
upright; he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him.”
Psalm 92:13-15 (NKJ)

The phrase “they shall be fresh” means they shall have original qualities about them. The
word “flourish” means to prosper and be successful.

There is purpose to our lives when we are planted in the Lord. He prospers us in all we are and
do. This is not for our benefit only, but to tell the world what kind of a God we serve.

As we approach the new year, let us purpose in our hearts to tell the world who our Father is,
going forth declaring that we are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.

When we put God first, the rest of our lives will take meaning.

In Christ Jesus,

John and Janette Martin
Planted in the House of the Lord
Training Center in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma
We thank God for our friendship with John and Janette
Martin, who have blessed our lives. They were born, grew up,
and married in Pennsylvania, and have lived in Indiana for
over forty years.

John, who retired from the steel industry, and Janette have
four children, eleven grandchildren, and one great
grandchild.  Upon graduation from Rhema in May 1998, they
hope to devote themselves fulltime to serving the Lord.
