Rev. Beaty was born of Quaker parents on a
farm in Kansas and was converted to Christ at age 18. He taught school
three years after obtaining a Teacher's Certificate from Kansas State
Teachers College and, at the age of twenty-two, responded to the call to
the ministry. His first efforts consisted of jail meetings, street
preaching, and tent meetings. He then spent twenty-nine years in pastoral
ministry and traveled as an evangelist for seven years. Rev. Beaty
graduated in the 1975 Charter Class of Rhema Bible Training Center, Tulsa,
Oklahoma, and has spent the last nineteen years as a full-time instructor
at Rhema.
In his book, What is Worldliness?, Rev.
Beaty defines worldliness from the Bible, explores its serious
consequences, and teaches us how to overcome it in our lives.
